Welcome to 7 17 Credit Union

We're excited to officially welcome Geauga Credit Union members to the 7 17 Credit Union family. As we prepare for the final system conversion on October 30th-November 2, we've put together this guide to help make your transition as smooth as possible. Rest assured your branches will stay open after the conversion with the same hours you’re used to!

If you have questions at any point during the conversion, call us at (440) 834-4327 or visit your local branch.

On November 2, 2026, the Geauga phone lines will reroute to 7 17’s phone number at 800-775-7741. Please start calling this line after November 2. The website will also begin redirecting to 717cu.com after November 13. The site will stay live until then for EZCard Credit Card payments. Please use 7 17’s website for all of your other online banking needs.

Preparing for Conversion Weekend

During the conversion weekend of October 30 through November 2, some services may be temporarily unavailable while accounts are transferred to 7 17 systems. Additionally, your Burton and Middlefield branches will close early on Friday and will not be open on Saturday to accommodate the conversion – see the important dates below for more.

We recommend:

  • Keeping a small amount of cash on hand
  • Having an alternate payment method available
  • Completing important transactions before the weekend
  • Saving any account history or documents you may need

Mid-October

New 7 17 Debit Cards
Expect your new debit card to come in the mail! Call to activate – but don’t begin using it until Nov. 2.

Oct. 15

New Checks
Members who are actively using checks will get a box of starter checks at no cost.

Mid-to-Late October

New 7 17 Credit Cards
Expect your new credit card to come in the mail! Activate on November 17.

Before Oct. 31

Re-Enroll in Bill Pay with 7 17
If you used bill pay with GCU, please open your membership with 7 17 Credit Union early so you can re-establish your bill pay. Unfortunately, we can’t bring these systems over – if you don’t, you’ll lose your information.

Oct. 29

Digital Banking Freeze and Early Closure
At 3PM October 29th, digital banking and online loan payments will shut down on Geauga Credit Union’s website. Our Middlefield and Burton branches will close at 3PM to accommodate our staff as we transition our systems. At 6 PM October 29th, remote check deposit will become unavailable.

Oct. 31

No Saturday Hours
Our Middlefield branch won’t have Saturday hours so staff can prepare for the operational merger.

Nov. 2

New 7 17 Account and Routing Numbers
Active All accounts and balances move over to 7 17; Your old account and routing numbers are retired.

R-enroll in Digital Banking
You must manually re-enroll in online banking with 7 17 Credit Union.

Geauga CU Communication Channels Retire
Call 7 17 at 800-775-7741 or visit 717cu.com. The GCU phone number will be deactivated. The website will stay active until Nov. 13 to support credit card payments.

Shared Branching and ATM Network Activates
ATMs go-live on 7 17’s network. PTM Middlefield begins accepting deposits. Shared Branching becomes active at Burton & Middlefield.

Geaugacreditunion.com retires
Geauga Credit Union’s website remains up until this day to support credit card payments.
 

Nov. 17

Credit Cards can be Activated
You can call a new number to activate your replacement credit card. You must also stop using the old system to pay your old credit card balance.
