7 17 Credit Union President and CEO, Gary Soukenik, presented the United Way of Trumbull County with a check for $10,000 on Tuesday to address emerging needs throughout the county as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Soukenik, a former United Way of Trumbull County board and campaign chairman, said the credit union and the United Way realize the effects closures and service disruptions will have on the community.
“The United Way of Trumbull County provides funding for programs that are boots on the ground in this situation and 7 17 knows that the United Way has a process in place to make sure this gift is used in the most effective and efficient way to have the greatest impact,” he said.
Ginny Pasha, president of the United Way of Trumbull County, was appreciative of 7 17 and its members for their support.
“This is a challenging time for all of us,” Pasha said. “With this gift, we will try to help mitigate the additional financial burden on our partner agencies.”
Partnering agencies that will benefit from 7 17’s donation include Catholic Charities, Help Network of Northeast Ohio and SCOPE Senior Services.
