Status of 7 17 Off-Site ATMs

Like you, we were caught off guard by the sudden service failure of our former ATM vendor. And, like you, we’ve been frustrated. However, every challenge is an opportunity to improve and our plan are more than just about restoring convenience—it is about providing a reliable, safer option to give you peace of mind and doing right our members.

Our Plans to Restore Service

Beginning September 16, we’ve started installing seven new ATMs and three PTMs—rolling out two each week through mid-October. By November 1, all upgraded machines will be up and running, ahead of schedule. The best part: these machines are fully owned and managed by 7 17 Credit Union. That means we — not outside vendors— control the technology, security, and protection of your data.

Looking ahead, we’re committed to expanding our ATM network across Northeast Ohio and enhancing enclosures for a safer, more convenient member experience.

Making Things Right

We know too many members have been inconvenienced during this improvement period, and we want to make it right.

For those who experienced Foreign ATM fees at non-7 17 ATMs from April 1 to September 16, 2025, all of those fees have been or will be reversed. Fees charged by other financial institutions at their ATMs from April through August were refunded on September 16. Fees incurred from September 1st through the 16th will be refunded at the beginning of October. Refunds can be verified in online/mobile banking or on your statement. You shouldn’t have to pay for an issue that our vendor caused all of us.

Going forward, all MoneyPass Network ATMs will be free for our members to use. We are eliminating the $1.50 surcharge fee effective immediately. The MoneyPass ATM network has approximately 40,000 surcharge-free ATMs across the United States, making it one of the largest fee-free networks in the nation.
